A few months ago, on a Monday in August, I had the pleasure of working with two lovely entrepreneurs – Carla Grima and Rossella Frigerio. Carla Grima is one of Malta’s most buzzing designers. Her patterned silk kaftans have become a trademark as have her swirly, colourful patterns. This year, her swimsuits were one of the most talked-about pieces at Malta Fashion Week too.
Rossella is a co-founder of Sofia Capri, a luxury brand of hand-crafted sandals from the isle of Capri. There were some wonderful coloured options and even some animal patterned ones for the less conservative.
We all got together to host a night at the Westin Dragonara, on a gorgeous terrace a few steps from Palio’s and overlooking the newly opened Boathouse Lounge. Some tasty lemonade was served and the ambience was absolutely perfect. My role there was to provide some styling tips to prospective customers and new, fresh ideas on how to wear certain pieces.
