Ten Word Description of Mvintage.com Jewels
Stunning head turning collection that adds style to any outfit.
When did you first get interested in designing jewellery ? When did you start designing and actually start selling jewellery ?
I was always a fashion lover; it all amplified when i finished my university studies and i started working for YSL, Kenzo and Givenchy. My first serious job was cosmetics brand manager for these fashion houses in Malta. Since then i can smell fashion from miles away
In 2008 I had the opportunity to advance in my career and moved on to being the general manager of the local distributors for top jewellery and watches brand including Fossil, Breil, Morellato, Micheal Kors and Moschino! I loved working for these brands and my eyes still sparkle when i walk in one of their stores! I have been exposed to the these brands literally inside out. In 2012 when I had my little girl Francesca, I decided to start a new page and she gave me the push i needed to start living my dream; which was that to have my own brand. In 2012 i established Mconcepts and in Nov 2012 we launched Mvintage.com. Since 2012 I started designing and manufacturing my own jewellery. Today I am still the person who develops the Mvintage collection, and i must say I am such a pain in this; the collections have to be perfect! I would never want to see anyone wearing Mvintage and not looking anything less than stunning! However I have people helping me on the production as luckily the business started growing and it has today become much more than i can personally handle on my own.

Do you have different collections ?
We have different collections; which mainly constitute of a basic collection, where one can find the perfect basics to combine with any other elements. The chains collection which we like to call the Haute couture chains. This is a absolutely extravagant cat walk collection combining a number of different types of chains. A luxury Gems collection combining the beauty of stones and luxury gems. The endlessly romantic pearl collection and also a very unique wedding collection.
Which is your favourite stone and which is your favourite metal ?
I love working with hematite stone and pearls and combining these to chains. I love the contrast and of classical materials combined with elements which make them look modern and different.
My favourite metal is stainless steel, but it is not as flexible as brass to create certain designs.

Which is your all time favourite piece that you have created ?

From where do you draw on for inspiration and are there are any other jewellery designers that inspire you?
I like to describe my favourite hobby; people watching as my main inspiration. I love watching people, wherever i go, at the grocery store, during my morning jog, at the restaurant, while driving … I look at what they are wearing, their facial expressions, wonder what they are thinking or feeling. I am an impressively great observer and I draw my inspirations from the people around me. Others can walk a street full of people and notice only one or two things, but i would probably not be able to help myself from noticing every single person that passes by me! I also travel quite often and I love watching the different cultures even if it means getting a culture shock sometimes  Other designers are surely an influence as they create everything that surrounds us today  My ultimately favourite is Stella Mc Cartney
Your best career moment ?

Every moment in my career was vital to mould me in what I am today. Every work experience i had contributed in leading me to establishing my own company of which i am very proud. I like to see my career as a ladder and today I believe I am standing on the highest step. I must say the day we launched www.mvintage.com I was over the moon

Plans for 2013 ?
