Beauty : A Fish Pedi

Last Saturday, I decided to do something a little bit different. First off – The Entertainer has asked me to pick a few of the experiences available on their list and try them out using the Entertainer Product App.
After scanning the huge list, I immediately chose the Fish Lounge. I had tried a fish pedicure in Malaysia a few years ago and have been meaning to go to the Fish Lounge ever since it opened, in St Julian’s, but somehow, I never got round to it. If you’re not quite sure what a fish pedicure is – it’s basically 20 or 30 minutes of letting your feet soak in a fish tank filled with special fish that will nibble away very slowly at your dry skin.

At 11 am on a Saturday morning, the place is still quiet, by the afternoon it’s usually quite busy, I liked the fact that I had the palce to myself so to speak. A good thing about going during off-peak hours is that you can easily choose which category of fish you want to experience. There are three levels of intensity – the highest will bite off the most skin but might feel uncomfortable especially if you’re ticklish. I tried the medium intensity option.
The process starts off with a foot wash using a special, non-toxic wash. My feet were then immersed into a fish tank filled with over a 100 fish that have come all the way from Turkey and I just sat back and relaxed for 30 minutes. The sensation is quite similar to a foot massage – it’s really quite relaxing and doesn’t feel at all painful.
After 30 minutes, I looked at my rejuvenated feet out and saw lovely looking feet with most if not all of the dry, hard skin gone. In my case, the dry skin hasn’t left completely but my recent frolicking with insanely high heels across all the recent fashion events had given me quite an abundance of dry skin. I was happy enough with the resulting dry skin reduction.
Besides pedis, they also have a full-body option in Bugibba, which I plan on trying in July so watch this space for more fishy reviews.
Sooooo, next scan the photo,s and jump to the end of the post and read about a 2-for-1 offer.

So how does the Entertainer and 2-for-1 work?
The Entertainer is a recently-launched international product that is yep you guessed it – based upon a 2-for-1 system. It is a product you buy, either as an app or as a hard-copy book, you then have a set of 2-for-1 vouchers for a range of different services that can be used any day and time.

With beauty services, you can use the offer to get two at that time or get an advance free service rather than sharing. There are also a lot of meal vouchers on the app but those are meant to be shared.

NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS – I’ve teamed up with the Entertainer to offer you guys a 10% discount on the product – simply enter CAROLINE10 in the promo code box in the shopping cart from the website
