Beauty : Makeup that Lasts – MaxFactor Reviews

I tend to favour more expensive makeup brands over lower-priced ones, mainly because I’ve found cheaper makeup to be less long-lasting and if there’s one thing I hate, it’s spending time creating that perfect makeup look, only to have it melt away a few hours later. Living in Malta and our hot summers don’t exactly help the situation.

Whilst I’ve found a few others brands since then, MaxFactor was actually my first introduction to lipstick that literally never goes – LipFinity.  I both loved and hated it back then, it worked but it also made my lips really dry – they would crack and even bleed. The formula has changed completely now – better in some ways worse in others.

Both products reviewed below (LipFinity and Creme Blush Puff), are worn in the picture above along with KIKO purple mascara.

MaxFactor LipFinity Review
Staying Power: It does last but it’s no longer a superpower, after lunch and a few drinks later, the colour had faded, a few hours later, a few more glasses of water and it did leave for good.
Lip Condition: It no longer dries out my lips – hurrah! Actually, it didn’t worsen my lip condition in the least
Ease of Removal: Since it’s not one of the insanely long-lasting ones, it’s easy to remove and doesn’t require waterproof makeup remover.

Max Factor Creme Blush Puff Review
Colour Payoff: The colour payoff is really great, so much so, that I actually had way too colourful cheeks after my initial brush stroke.
Staying Power: Pretty good, after 5 hours my cheeks looked pretty much the same as they did in the first hour.
Ease of Removal: Again, the product came off using a ‘normal’ face cleanser so no need for extra rubbing, tugging or irritation towards the skin.
