Art Direction : Twisted Fairies

A few months ago I decided to enroll in a course at Central St Martins University. The course was about learning Art Direction within a fashion context. The brilliant lecturer Schelay McCarter did a brilliant job of guiding and instructing us in the role of the Art Director.  I’m happy to say and possibly gloat that I passed the course with an A in all areas  😀 😀 : D

As part of the curriculum, we had to present and if possible actually produce a directed editorial. The work included all mood boards, location scouting, model ideas, posing ideas. After a fair bit of to and fro between different ideas, the story of the Twisted Fairies was created.
In a forest,  live two fairies, one inherently good, one inherently evil. The good fairy loves the forest and everything in it, this irritates the bad fairy who hates the idea of innocence. She wants to destruct the good fairy and her forest. The good fairy will stand and protect.

Here are just a few of the mood boards and styling boards I presented.

The Shoot was shot in Buskett by Kurt Paris and directed by moi (obviously!)
