Outfit Post : Let’s Talk about The Slip Dress

There are three points of notice in this post today. First of all, there’s a new shop in town – Freeze Frame. The second point is that I’m wearing a slip dress and the third point is my shoes..look closely at the logo and you’ll get my point.

Back to Freeze Frame. The shop, which is in Sliema, is owned by a lovely woman who’s spent a chunk of her life working in Hong Kong within the fashion manufacturing industry. Her aim is to provide high quality, unique pieces that fit well but still sport a great, affordable price. Each piece is designed by herself and she supervises the entire process, including the fabric choice (most times she designs her own fabrics), the patterns – basically, everything.
Onto the slip dress, you must have noticed that the idea of wearing underwear as outerwear is in and in a big way at present. One of the obvious follow-ups to this trend is that slip dresses have also really entered the scene. There’s no need to go for the obvious sexy route and team your slip dress with a pair of stilettoes, although this could still look fab if done right. My point is, though, that you can simply layer a t-shirt, a shirt, a turtle-neck under it and wear with a pair of flat boots or a pair of sneakers. The world is your oyster so have some fun.
So the shoes, yep they’re Birkenstock leather sneakers and the footbed is an actual Birkenstock footbed – so it’s like a little slice of comfort heaven and so comfy to wear without socks – I’m in love.
