Fashion Week : The Beauty Edit – What’s in My Suitcase

Whenever I go to fashion weeks, I always talk about what I wore and the clothes etc but rarely about the beauty products I take with me. So this time, I’m going to be showing you a bit of my preparations in the mornings and I’ve written a post highlighting some of the key products I decided to bring along with me

Hair
My hair is always the thing that causes me most hassle. Lots of people love my curls but I have a bit of a love/hate relationship going on…I loVe them when they’re not there, get annoyed at them when they are. The truth is that curls tend to have a bit of a mind of their own and can present you with a totally diff look then what you intended on any random day. There’s also the fact that I’m truly an awful hair stylist.
For this fashion week, I’m probably going for a mix of both looks but it will mainly be straight.
So my choice of label for this event was LABELM – for multiple reasons, the range is huge and they also sponsor LFW which means you can actually get a step by step tutorial off the Toni and Guy Website right after the shows with instructions on how to achieve the looks. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that I’ll have some of the products with me.
I’ve got plenty of dry shampoo too which is great for absorbing oil and also for creating up-styles with plenty of lift.

Teeth

Recently, I’ve had a couple of skin allergic reactions that I’m still trying to determine the cause of. However, in the meantime, from my research I came across so many posts proclaiming the importance of using fluoride-free toothpaste products, apparently fouride is one of the main causes of skin allergies. At the same time, I came across this brand called SPLAT and I fell in love with the packaging and ideas – they’ve even got a LOVE toothpaste. I got a selection of different ones to try out because I couldn’t decide which ones I wanted so I’ll be reviewing them all very soon.
Skin
If you’re a regular reader, then you know that I’ve been using Ericsson Laboratoire both products and facial treatments for a while now. Their products are still working well for me. In particular, I’ve started using this eye mask that also doubles up as an eye serum and it’s fantastic at keeping those dark circles and eye bags at bay.
During flights and change of climates, one of the parts of my body that suffers the most is always my handes – they get so dry. Recently, there’s been a hype about repairing gloves and I found a pair by Magic Stripes that I decided to bring along.

Makeup
Makeup is always where I go a bit nuts and pack 5 different red lipsticks only to decide that red lipstick doesn’t work well with any of my outfits. I’ve got so many different makeup products with me it’s crazy. The majority is MAC I guess but there’s also some DIOR, some Bobbie Brown, Benefit and Urban Decay and a Flormar foundation that everyone keeps raving about so I decided to give it a try.
I also have a really interesting product by Magic Stripes to try – eyelid lifting tape- the idea is for these to create a bit more lift in the eyelid and you just apply makeup over them – will keep you posted.
